Bridgwater Town Reserves 4, Nailsea United 3
BRIDGWATER Town Reserves manager Dan Wright hailed ‘a truly amazing fight back’ from his players as they battled back from 3-1 down to beat Nailsea United 4-3 at Fairfax Park on Saturday.
The Robins found themselves 3-1 down at the break, with George Sinnott on target for the home side.
But second-half goals from Gary Saunders (2) and Alex Male completed a remarkable comeback for Town – and manager Dan Wright said his players showed their ‘talent and character’.
He said: “It was a truly amazing fight back from the players in the second half.
“If evidence was ever required to demonstrate the talent and character in this group then here it is.
“Although we have won the game, we all know that our performances can be a lot higher – we are certainly no way near our best form.
“We have lost a lot of players from last season’s cup winning team which have progressed to the first team in Southern League a much higher standard of football – which is exactly what this reserve team is all about.
“It’ll take time to develop players and characters to fill those boots but in time there will be another bunch of players ready to make the progression.”
