Pre-season friendly
Shepton Mallet 1, Bridgwater Town 2
JOE Bushin scored twice for Bridgwater Town as they stepped up their preparation for the new season with a 2-1 victory at Shepton Mallet on Saturday.
The striker scored either side of half-time to secure an encouraging win for Paul West’s side, before the hosts pulled on back five minutes from time.
Bushin fired the Robins into a 19th minute lead, as headed home Kyle Thomas’ pinpoint cross after some good build-up play – and he doubled the lead 18 minutes from time, with a low drilled effort into the bottom corner.
Shepton Mallet reduced the arrears in the 85th minute courtesy of a fine free-kick from Ross McErlain, but Town held on for the win.
Bridgwater Town continue their pre-season campaign tonight (Tuesday) when they welcome Bideford to Fairfax Park - 7.45pm kick-off.
