TOM Knighton praised Bridgwater Town’s strong current form after Saturday’s comfortable home victory over Totton – and hopes his side can continue in the same vein for the rest of the season.

Knighton, who has enjoyed an impressive season in front of goal, believes things have started to click for the Robins as they look to better last season’s league position.

He said: “We put in a good performance on Saturday – we weren’t brilliant but it was good enough to get the three points.

“Things have started to click for us in recent weeks, even over the Easter weekend we played well and probably should’ve got something from the Taunton game.

“But we are playing well and hopefully that’ll continue for the rest of the season.”

Manager Richard Fey was also satisfied with his side’s performance and cited the debut performance of Charlie Bridges as an encouraging factor.

He said: “It was pleasing to see again Charlie Bridges from our under-18s play the last 30 minutes and do really well.

Unfortunately we lost Jack Allward, Craig Allan and Kyle Tooze to injuries, so we’re doing everything we can to get them fit for the Yeovil cup semi-final a week Tuesday.”

Bridgwater travel to Cinderford Town on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
