SYDENHAM Rangers have sealed the Taunton & District Saturday League Division 3 title without losing a game following last Saturday’s 6-1 victory over Norton Fitzwarren – for whom James Potter scored their consolation goal.

Joseph Fitzsimmons got a hattrick for Rangers, Carl Jones, Jake Adey added one each with Norton adding an own goal for the sixth – meaning they cannot be caught at the top of the table with an impressive record of 16 wins from 16 games and a goal difference of +53.

In the West Somerset Rose Bowl, second division Milverton Rangers took on Middlezoy Rovers Reserves (see the Big Match for full report and reaction).

Bridgwater Sports have opened a gap at the top of Division 1 with a 3-0 win over Porlock; Matt Fursland struck twice and Lee Mallett once.

Staplegrove Reserves move out of the bottom two with a point at North Petherton in a 1-1 draw.

Player/manager Scott Reynolds chased down a through ball and was stronger than the defender and managed to get around the keeper to put the ball into an open net.

Senna Clapp got his side back into the game a few minutes later with a well taken goal.

In Division 2, The Gallery were 6-1 winners over Minehead Reserves – goal scorers were Jake Croker, Phil Simms, Mark Pope, Ollie Smith and two from Jamie Evans.

Stogursey beat higher placed Westonzoyland 2-1 with a goal each from Dan Mosedale and a Ryan Chidgey penalty, James Millard scored for Westonzoyland.

Dulverton Town travelled to Morganians and went home with all three points after a 1-0 victory thanks to a Harry Harrison goal.

In Division 3, Bridgwater Sports Reserves’ 4-0 victory over Woolavington enabled them to close the gap on leaders Sydenham to just 15 points!

Brendan Pope, George Turner and Scott Clapp all scored from open play with John Wilde converting from the penalty spot.

Middlezoy Athletic beat Bridgwater Grasshoppers by the odd goal in five in Division 4, thanks to two from Rhys Maynard and one from Aaron James; Rob Adams got both Grasshopper goals.

The battle between fourthplace North Petherton Reserves and fifth-place Wiveliscombe was a rightly contested affair with the fourth place team coming out on top 2-1 – Tom Outrum and James Baker scored for Pethy and James Harris for Wivey.

In Division 5, Bridgwater Sports Colts had the chance to go top with the leaders’ game postponed, but they blew it by losing 2-0 to local rivals Bridgwater Wolves for whom Ash Mills and Josh Whellem scored.

East Bower had a 3-0 home win over Norton Fitzwarren Reserves, Mike Watts scoring two and Shane Frost one.

Fivehead started the game well against Nether Stowey with Conner Fletcher playing his first game and was the difference between the two sides scoring twice.

Nick Blazeley also scored two with Kev Sweet and Dan Edmunds adding one each; Simon Penny and Lewis Scrimgeour replied for Stowey.
