BRIDGWATER Amateur Swimming Club were back competing at the first weekend of the ASA County Championships held at Millfield School, a competition that allows all the swimmers within the county to compete against each over a series of weekends.

Bridgwater were fielding the largest team they have had at these championships in three years, with a number of fantastic results.

Storm Munday took a bronze medal in the 200 meters Breaststroke and beat his personal best by an outstanding 10 seconds in the 100 metres Individual Medley.

Next up was Alex Towells, competing in the 50 metres freestyle, swimming a fantastic race, booking him a spot in the age group final, a remarkable achievement for his first time at the championships.

Ellen Cabble swam an all time best time in the 400 metres freestyle, representing Bridgwater Swimming Club for the very first time.

Ronnie Borowska stormed to a personal best of well over one second in the 50 metres Freestyle (31.24), a remarkable achievement, especially in such a close fought event often separated by very small margins.

Rich Hill was back representing the club, in his 12 championships - proving he was back on form, he swam the 50 metres Freestyle in a time of 24:99 and made the final of the 100 metres butterfly in a time of 1:01:11, only just outside his best.
