WESTONZOYLAND booked their place in the last four of the Somerset Intermediate Cup with a 4-1 victory over Worle Reserves.

James Millard scored twice with Jake Gillard and Andrew Evans adding the other two. Credit to Worle for agreeing to travel to Westonzoyland for what was their home fixture but, with an unplayable pitch, they kindly agreed to the swap.

In the Knock-Out Cup semi-final, North Petherton were beaten 5-2 by Locomotives.

Senna Clapp was on hand to give North Petherton the lead and, ten minutes later, they doubled their lead with a Scott Harman goal. But Locos hit back with five unanswered goals to progress to the final.

In Division 1, Bishops Lydeard Reserves beat Sampford Blues 4-1 but, sadly, it wasn’t enough to move them off the bottom of the table.

Kirk Poulson scored twice, Charlie Cooke and Dan Abercrombie once each for Lydeard and Luke Lawrence replied for Blues.

Alcombe Rovers stay top of Division 2 after a convincing 3-0 victory over Morganians, thanks to goals from Darren Sherring, Chris Newbold and Andrew Land.

Wembdon were 1-0 winners at Milverton Rangers – and, in Division 3, Sydenham Rangers continue to be the only side in the entire league who remain undefeated, this week beating Norton Fitzwarren 6-1.

Both Carl Jones and George Wilkinson scored a pair for Rangers, Joseph Fitzsimmons and Jake Adey added one each, Scott Mervin got the Norton consolation goal.

Bridgwater Sports Reserves maintain the 12-point gap after a 4-1 home win over Highbridge Town Reserves with goals from Brendan Pope, Callum James, George Turner and Liam Clapp – Phil Fisher got the Highbridge goal.

Woolavington beat Exmoor Rangers 4-1 - Josh Corkett scored two for the winners, Liam Neal and Sam Godfrey added one each, Jimmy Baker netted for Rangers.

Division 4 leaders Creech Cougars were held to a 3-3 draw by Bridgwater Grasshoppers for whom Dan Saunders, Shane Thompson and Rob Adams scored.

On target for Creech were James Brush, Ali Poole and Adam Barter.

Middlezoy Athletic were 4-1 winners at Porlock – and in Division 5, Bridgwater Sports Colts overcame Bishops Lydeard Colts, see the Big Match, page 75.

Bottom side Norton Fitzwarren Reserves picked up their second victory of the season with a 2-1 away win at Morganians Reserves with a goal from James Wyatt and a converted penalty from Lewis Coward.

North Curry beat Bridgwater Wolves 5-2 with Josh Dodimead, Ben Carolan, Rob Watts and Joe Gratton all scoring one each.

Chris McKee scored the perfect hat-rick – one with his left, one with his right and a header – for his side Hamilton Athletic Foxes who beat Nether Stowey 4-1.
