BRIDGWATER welterweight Teaken Prior will be going easy on the Christmas celebrations as he concentrates his attention on the ABA championships which get under way in the New Year.

Prior, 17, will begin his campaign challenging for a sixth consecutive Western Counties title.

But his main target is the national youth title before moving up to the senior ranks.

Prior, who is sponsored by both the Drove House Gym and Inkslingers tattoo studio in Bridgwater, was last year beaten in the semi-finals.

But his consistently good performances against the best boxers in the country have given him the confidence to believe he can go all the way in 2015.

In his first bout of the season Prior warmed up with a unanimous points decision over Bristol's Tobias Hacker.
