DOT’s Gang entertained Stockland Club at the Greyhound in the Quantock Vale Skittles League and trailed throughout the match, being 16 pins down at one point.

However, a combination of a poor last hand by Club and the Gang’s determination not to give in meant they pulled 12 on their last hand to win by five.

The second game involved Outcasts and league leaders Globetrotters and, again, one team, the Outcasts, led throughout the match but never by more than seven.

Globetrotters continued to keep the pressure on and trailed by just three with one hand to go and, with their last hand of 41, Outcasts only needed to hit 39 to win but, sadly, they missed their target by one so the match was drawn, the first of the season.

Triards’ 53-pin away victory over R and U’s meant they leapfrog Stockland Club to sit at the top of the table leading by one.

Dambusters also had a comfortable win at the Globe, beating Wanderers by 59.

Another very close game took place at the Cottage with the lead changing hands three times and then finally Applecrunchers held a very slender lead of a single pin after nine hands.

However, a 12 spare by last man on for Alley Boys, N. Maxfield, gave the visitors a 50-pin last hand that proved to be too much for the gallant Applecrunchers, who lost by 11.

The final of the front pin Cup will be between Globetrotters and Dot’s Gang and will be at the Stockland Club on Thursday, December 18
