BRIDGWATER Academy has been in fine sporting form in recent weeks, across a range of sports and age groups.

Firstly, the girls' football team reached County Finals for the third time in four years.

The team, who are currently unbeaten this season, qualified as runners-up without conceding a goal in their three games in this regional final.

The girls followed a 1-0 win over Kingsmoor with a frustrating 0-0 draw against Eastover, a game which saw the girls dominate from start to finish but failing to get that all-important goal.

They finished with an accomplished 2-0 win against St Joseph's.

At the recently-held Sedgemoor Schools' Indoor Athletics Festival at Bridgwater College, Bridgwater Academy’s team of 18 students from Year 6 represented the Academy with commitment and excellent teamwork to run, jump and throw their way to a creditable third place.

And the year 6 badminton team won the Sedgemoor Regional Championships and, consequently, qualified for the County Finals at the Somerset School Games to be held at Millfield in December.
