LIME Kiln B hosted the Market C team in Division A of the Bridgwater Town Skittles League.

The visitors got off to a roaring start with their highest hand of the night, a 87, to lead by 18. It took until the fourth hand before the home side got back into the lead following an 80-plus hand of their own, which they bettered in the seventh hand hitting an 88 to lead by 14 entering the final hand. Market won the hand but could only pull three.

In Division B, White Hart played at the British Flag against the B team. Flag opened with the best hand of the night, a 77, which pulled 22, then followed it up with their worst hand, a 58, letting White Hart back in, now only seven behind.

Hart struggled on pulling another five in the fourth hand, however, Flag just kept adding to their lead in the remaining hands to eventually win by 22 – coincidentally, the lead they held in the opening hand.

Sydenham B visited the Blake Hall to face the B side in Division C. Blake lost the first hand by two before winning the next five hands to lead by 19 entering the final hand – a big lead in a game where only four spares had been hit all night, the biggest a 15.

Sydenham won the final hand but by too small a margin, losing the game by 16.

In Division D, Cross Rifles B hosted the Bunch of Grapes B and took initial honours, winning the hand by seven. The Bunch won the next hand and started a series of lead changes throughout the game as each side scored just enough to secure the lead for themselves.

Entering the final hand, Bunch had a lead of eight and had been set a target of 53 to win; steady scoring throughout the hand ensured the win came their way following a very close game by six.
