MIDDLEZOY climbed to the top of the table with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Staplegrove on Saturday.
Goals from Craig Wright (2), Aaron Whaites, Carl Tucker and Dan Luce secured the points for ‘Zoy in a dominant display.
Aaron Whaites fired ‘Zoy in front on 11 minutes and moments later, Carl Tucker doubled the lead with a powerful header from Craig Wright’s inch-perfect corner.
Luke Desave pulled one back for Grove with a header from close range, but the two goal cushion was restored early in the second half courtesy of a neat finish from Wright.
Dan Luce’s delicate lob made it four after he was picked out by Jamie Temlett – and Wright bagged his second late on to complete the scoring and send Middlezoy to the summit.
