WEMBDON had the better of the early chances with Andrews, Barrow and Cook all going close with good chances and they were rewarded for their early pressure.
Keiran Barrow dispatched an unstoppable header into the net foollowing an Alex Stevens corner.
Wembdon had to thank keeper Dan James for some great saves before they extended their lead right on half-time following a great run down the right from captain Will Andrew. He beat several defenders before rounding the keeper and calmly dispatchingthe ball into the empty net.
The second half saw Wembdon absorb all the pressure with some great defending by Ben Cotton and Ben Jackson keeping the lively Lydeard forward line in check.
Dan James made several more telling saves and Wembdon were relieved when the final whistle went.

DRAGONS again failed to record the win their improving performance deserves in an entertaining game.
Wellington took a two-goal lead in the first half, despite goo play from Jack Williams and Robin Smith.
The second half started brightly and an excellent Will Stokes corner was headed into the net by Alfie Griffin after only three minutes.
Alfie Sampson fired just wide as Dragons dominated the play but Wellington’s third came in the last few minutes.
