Banwell 2, Middlezoy Rovers 5

MIDDLEZOY coasted past Banwell with a comfortable three-goal victory at a boggy Riverside Ground and close to within two points of the division's leaders.

Aaron Whaites opened the scoring from close range on 16 minutes after some good build up play involving Lintell and Luce. B anwell equalised five minutes later against the run of play after pinching the ball from goalscorer Whaites in midfield.

Jamie Temlett scored his first of the afternoon from a Dan Luce through ball on 24 minutes, and Temlett soon made in 3-1, turning well and firing home from the edge of the area.

Craig Wright got the fourth early in the second half, blasting in after a wonder save from the home keeper to keep out a header destined for the net.

Banwell pulled a goal back shortly after to make it 4-2 on the counter attack, but Temlett completed his hat-trick on 81 minutes to wrap up a good afternoon for the visitors.

Rovers host Staplegrove next weekend at the Aerodrome looking to put some daylight between themselves and the visitors who are in fourth position.
