Bridgwater Town Reserves 1, Frome Collegians 1

BRIDGWATER Town Reserves manager Luke Buckingham believes his side were unlucky not to take all three points, as they extended their unbeaten run to eight games with a 1-1 draw against Frome Collegians.

Michael Duffy equalised for Town with 15 minutes remaining, after the hosts had fallen behind in the first-half - but Buckingham felt his side were deserving of the win.

He said: "I was really disappointed with the first half performance - I could sense that we had become a little complacent after some good displays recently.

“However, credit to the team, we turned it around second and on the balance of play, we were unfortunate not to take all three points. "

On 25 minutes, Frome went ahead after a free-kick was headed on to the bar from six yards out and the Frome forward reacted quickest to lash the ball home from close range.

Bridgwater went close to equalising ten minutes before half time after Josh White's volley was deflected on to the bar and over by Chris Young's head.

Bridgwater upped their game in the second half and had long periods of possession and pressure and should have got back on level terms after fantastic work by Josh Champion down the right hand side set up Chris Young, whose shot was blocked by an incredible save by the Frome keeper.

Shortly after, Bridgwater were again denied by the keeper after Ellis Harper cut in from the left hand side and his powerful shot was deflected on to the post.

But the scores were level with 15 minutes left after Harper's deep back-post corner found captain Josh White, who headed back across goal for Michael Duffy to prod home from close range.

Bridgwater were on top with for the remaining stages of the game and forced a series of corners and free-kicks, but couldn't find a way through.
