Staplegrove 8, Wembdon Saints 0

WEMBDON got off to the worse possible start in this game with Staplegrove scoring within the first thirty seconds - and they never recovered from the slow start.

The game was over in the first twenty minutes with Staplegrove racing in to three goal lead.

Although Wembdon were three down this didn't stop them for putting Staplegrove under pressure in the first half causing their defence several problems.

Great saves from Oliver Smith kept the score at three and some good defending from Ben Cotton and Joe Redman.

Ben Jackson played really well up front holding up the ball and laying off some delightful balls to the ever eager Kerian Barrow who linked well with Will Andrews and Kristian West.

Staplegrove added to the score by being quickest to rebounds following further saves from Ollie Smith The second half saw Wembdon more competitive and once again dominated long spells of play with both Andrews and Barrow going close following good work in the middle of the park from Dan James.

In the last ten minutes with tiring legs on the Wembdon side, Staplegrove were able to add to their tally.

Wembdon will learn from this and would like to thank the vocal support from family and friends at this match.

Joe Redman was awarded man of the match for his fine performance
