Middlezoy Rovers 3, St George Easton Gordano 1

MIDDLEZOY Rovers struck twice in the final five minutes to secure a 3-1 victory over St George EG on Saturday.

Dan Luce and Craig Wright netted in the dying minutes for 'Zoy, after Aaron Whaites opener had been cancelled out by a St George equaliser of 85 minutes.

Middlezoy went ahead on 10 minutes through Aaron Whaites, who fizzed a free-kick from wide on the left that eluded everyone and went into the net.

This could of been 2-0 very soon after had Dan Luce done better when well placed on the penalty spot, however he screwed his shot wide.

The home side continued to control the game and thought they had gone 2-0 up, only for Adam Prescott's audacious lob to come back off the underside of the bar - Charlie Lintell failed to convert the follow up with the goal at his mercy.

The game settled down with both sides trying to keep the ball and the best either side could manage were half chances until an eventful last five minutes.

The game sprang back into life when the visitors equalised on 85 minutes after a scramble in the box.

With the game in the balance Middlezoy went back in front with two minutes remaining through midfielder Dan Luce - as his shot from the edge of the box deflected into the top corner.

A minute later it was game over, when a brilliant pass from Aaron Whaites set Craig Wright free.

He beat the keeper, only to see his shot cleared off the line into the path of Dan Luce - whose follow up was well saved but fell straight back at his feet, for him to square to Craig Wright to tap home.
