DO YOU want to have your say on what’s important to you in terms of policing?

Sue Mountstevens, the police and crime commissioner for Avon and Somerset Police has launched a consultation to address the policing and community needs of the area.

Ms Mountstevens wants the views of residents, community groups, businesses and partners to inform the strategic policing priorities.

It will help shape and develop the next Police and Crime Plan for Avon and Somerset.

Vulnerability, strengthening and improving local policing teams are some of the areas she believes should be a strate- gic priority for the police.

She said: “Everybody who makes up Avon and Somerset will have a view on what should be a policing priority in the area they live and work.

“Listening to people is the most important part of my role and it’s only by hearing from you, that I can truly be your voice in policing.

“It’s your police service so it’s only right that your thoughts are represented in our Police and Crime Plan.

“Everyone has the right to be safe and feel safe in their community and I want people to have the upmost confidence in the police.

“This is your chance to tell me what is important to you and I look forward to receiving your responses.”

The Police and Crime Plan sets out the strategic priorities, aims and objectives for the Constabulary for policing Avon and Somerset.

People can respond to the consultation online by visiting www.avonandsomersetpcc.gov.uk or alternatively call 01275 816377 for hard copy surveys.

Copies of the consultation will also be available at police stations, libraries and on re- quest.

The consultation closes on Tuesday, August 30.

The plan will be presented to the Police and Crime Panel for review, before being published in October.
