A Bridgwater swimmer has won a bronze medal at the British Paralympic Trials over the weekend.
Cameron Vearncombe took home bronze in the final of the 200m Individual Medley event at the trials.
He will now await the news on if he has qualified for the GB Team that will head to the Paralympics in Paris later this year.
Members of Bridgwater Swimming Club were watching his performance live on a live stream and cheering him on during the race.
A spokesperson from Bridgwater Swimming Club, where Cameron trained, said: "Congratulations to Bridgwater’s Cameron who took bronze in the final of the 200 IM in a nominated time.
"We now wait in anticipation to see if he will be included in the GB team for the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. Everyone from Bridgwater is immensely proud."
Last year, Vearncombe achieved selection for a debut Para Swimming World Championships following his performances in February's national finals in Aberdeen.
The 2024 Paralympics take place from Wednesday, August 28 and run until Sunday, September 9.
