A NEW event will be taking over Bridgwater town centre this summer thanks to a grant from Somerset Council’s Town Deal investment from the UK Government.

'Super Saturday' will bring live circus, dance, theatre, and music to the Cornhill, High Street, Fore Street, and St Mary's Church from 12pm until 5pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

The event, inspired by the already popular Yeovil Super Saturday, was awarded a £20,000 grant to fund the day of fun.

With their grant, they plan to have three stages, eight performance companies and plenty more in the way of entertainment.

A spokesperson for the Lost Lady Society, creators of Super Saturday, said: "Lost Lady Society were thrilled to be awarded this kind grant from Bridgwater Town Deal to run the first ever Bridgwater Super Saturday on July 20, 2024.

"Inspired by Yeovil Super Saturday, we will be bringing some exceptional Somerset based talent to the town centre.

"We'll be taking over Cornhill, High Street, Fore Street, and St Mary's Church from 12pm until 5pm.
