A FORMER fish and chip shop in Bridgwater will soon be converted into a new dog grooming parlour as planning permission has been granted by Somerset Council.
In March earlier this year, Groom Central- Dog Grooming applied to change the use of the ground floor shop premises at 1 Grenville House, Rhode Lane, to a dog grooming business.
The premises was formerly occupied by Robins Takeaway.
The applicant has also been granted permission to erect a vinyl business advertisement sign fixed above the existing security roller-shutter of shop premises.
The premises will retain its existing bench and counter, but two new work stands will be installed to groom up to two dogs at a time.
A new large 'dog bath' over the existing drain at the back of the store, will also be installed, as well as a toilet.
The applicant will have three years from Tuesday, April 17, when permission was granted, to put the plans into action.
For more information on the application, search planning reference number 08/24/00013 on Somerset Council's online planning portal.
