A LEGENDARY guitarist who played in an iconic rock band and has worked with the likes of Sir Paul McCartney is set to perform in Bridgwater this summer.

Robbie McIntosh, a former member of The Pretenders, and guitarist for Sir Paul himself, will perform at Bridgwater Arts Centre on Saturday, June 1 from 8pm.

Tickets can be purchased for £20 from the Bridgwater Arts Centre website.

Dave Edney, co-ordinator for the Arts Centre, said: "Checking this man's CV is like rifling through someone's record collection.

"Cher, Joe Cocker, The Bee-Gees, Paul Young, Mark Knopfler, Roger Daltrey, Rod Stewart, Tears For Fears, Tori Amos and Dolly Parton are just some of the people he has played guitar for.

"The list, however, only scratches the surface as he was in Norah Jones' touring band in 2004, was a member of The Pretenders between 1977 & 1978 whilst from 1989 to 1993 was Paul McCartney's guitar player.

"In other words, this guy is pretty darn good, and now he is playing Bridgwater.

"This is, quite simply, a must watch gig."
