A MAN sadly passed away in Blake Gardens, Bridgwater, on Friday, March 29.

Police say that the death of the man in his 50s is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.

They were called by the ambulance service in the early hours of Friday morning to assist with the situation.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We understand there is some concern in the community following a police response in Blake Gardens, Bridgwater, yesterday (Friday 29 March).

"Officers were called by the ambulance service at 6.24am to a report of a man in need of medical attention.

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency personnel, the man in his 50s died. His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at the time.

"The man's death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious. Officers will continue to carry out enquiries on behalf of the coroner."
