ANYONE and everyone who can play guitar or bass in Bridgwater is needed to take part in a community flash-mob style tribute this weekend.
At 12:30pm on Saturday, February 3, the town centre will come alive with music as a huge number of local musicians will perform a rendition of 'Should I Stay or Should I Go?' by The Clash, in honour of the late Joe Strummer.
The Clash guitarist lived in the village of Broomfield, near Bridgwater, played his final gig in Bridgwater - a fundraiser that helped establish the Engine Room, where the Clash Mob's organiser, Seed, is based.
The performance will take place on the Cornhill near the Admiral Blake statue, and will be live-streamed across the globe.
Anyone interested in taking part can sign up for free on the Seed Sedgemoor website.
Seed Director, Scott O’Hara, said: "This years’ event, is a bit different, as rather than being just a concert performance, we’d like to give anyone and everyone in and around Bridgwater who can play a bit of guitar or bass to take part.
"We will be running a flash-mob style performance of ‘Should I Stay or Should I Go’ with participants joining our host backing band John D Revelator in the middle of their set.
“Whether you can play the song already, or would like to learn how to, we’d love to have you take part.
