BRIDGWATER Pantomime Society has announced it will return in January with a production of Puss in Boots at the town hall.
The society was forced to postponed this show because of Covid lockdowns in 2021 and the Omicron variant of the virus at the start of 2022.
Performances will run from Sunday, January 22 until Saturday, January 28. There will be no performance on the Wednesday (25).
A group spokesperson said: “The society last performed Puss in Boots in 2004 and are pleased to bring it back to the stage after a 19-year gap.
“Don’t miss out on this purr-fect production and support your local pantomime.”
The pantomime was written by Keith and Margaret Robinson, who will also produce and direct the show alongside Richard J. Porter.
Fiona Wheeler is in charge of the show's choreography.
Margaret Robinson is in charge of chorus and company singing, while musical direction is under the supervision of Jamie Moretti.
Neil Priddle is the society's stage manager and will be assisted by Darren Baker and their team.
Andrew Scammell is the lighting director, and Nick Bell is in charge of sound reinforcement.
On stage, Christie Buttle will be join the society as the principal boy, Tom, who becomes the Marquis of Carabas.
Amanda Nolan will play the title role, Puss in Boots, with Ava Gunningham as non-talking Puss.
Ken and Lindsey Stone will be King Herbie and Queen Hattie alongside Zoe Pike as Princess Stephanie. They will be joined by Keith Robinson as Dimpsey, their servant.
Richard J. Porter and Kevin Cripwell will star as Tom's 'orrible brothers, Basil and Barney.
Sam Pavey will be the villainous Willard Webb, and Margaret Robison and Kim Priddle alternating the role of Amythest the Enchantress.
John Hancock will be Joseph the Cobbler, Brenda Brooks will take on the role of Gruesome Gertie and Lindsey Roach will play Henry.
Tickets have been kept at their 2017 prices: £11 for adults and £8 for children.
A senior citizens' concession night will be held on Thursday, January 26, when tickets will cost £8.
Family tickets (two adults and two children) will be available for the evening performances on Monday 23 and Saturday 28 for £30.
