THUNDERY showers could be heading to Somerset today but temperatures will still stay high.
Met Office forecasters are warning of possible thundery showers later in the day, although sunny spells will see temperatures reach around 24C.
A forecaster said: "A bright start for some, especially in the east, followed by a warm and mostly dry day, with some sunshine too.
"However, some may see the odd slow-moving, heavy and perhaps thundery shower too."
Tonight would stay dry, he said, with overnight temperatures dropping to around 14C.
On Saturday, the forecaster said skies would become increasingly cloudy.
"Another pleasant day with spells of sunshine, though the skies will turn increasingly cloudy from the west during the afternoon, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle for western parts later," he said.
"Maximum Temperature 21C."
And from Sunday, more showers were likely to hit the county, with temperatures dropping to around the average for this time of year, around 20C.
