THERE are just a few days to go until Bridgwater’s popular Snowflakes & Shopping event will see Father Christmas visit the town once again.

The festive event will take place in the town centre on Friday, November 27, from between 4.30pm and 8pm.

Father Christmas will arrive on the Cornhill at 5.45pm conveyed by a special Christmas cart courtesy of Bridgwater Carnival and the lights, provided by Bridgwater Town Council, will be switched on by Mayor Cllr Leigh Redman at 6pm, followed by fireworks.

There will be musical entertainment, including Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Gracie Wickens-Sweet, as well as fair rides, an extended Bridgwater Castle Market and late night shopping throughout the town plus additional market stalls and the return of last year’s Emergency Services display in Eastover.

The festivities will be followed by a spectacular squibbing display on the Town Bridge, weather permitting, at 7pm.

Road closures will be in place from 11am so visitors are asked to plan journeys in advance.
Parking will be free in all district council-owned town centre car parks from 4pm and Angel Place are offering up to four hours free parking throughout the day.
