A CHILTON Trinity student is pursuing her goal to be a top-class footballer for England.

Demi Webber is now playing football for Somerset after ten years of constant practise and is being tipped for a South-West and England career.

The 14-year-old beat off the challenge of 50 other girls in Street for one of the 16 spaces in the Somerset squad and now has the England team firmly in her sights.

She said: “I’ve trialled three times now and this was the first time I was selected.

“This makes me feel really privileged but I also feel that I’ve really earned my place in the county squad”.

When she first took up football she played for her local team, Nether Stowey boys, and then Bishop Lydeard girls, where she was spotted by soccer scouts who encouraged her to go for county trials.
