STUDENTS from Bridgwater College will be digitally turning staff and fellow students’ hair purple for a calendar in aid of bibic this month.

Level 1 Information Technology students are putting together 2015 calendars of staff and students for bibic, which helps children with conditions affecting social, communication and learning abilities.

Kelly Moule, programme manager at Bridgwater College, said: “The students were given a project where they had to research a charity and come up with ways of fundraising for it and raising awareness.

“We recently visited bibic and were introduced to the team.

“We learnt all about what the charity does to help children and their families. The students then went away to discuss fundraising ideas and came up with the idea of a calendar.”

The calendar will include photos of staff and students from the college with purple hair, bibic’s brand colour.

The calendar will go on sale to students and staff at the college in aid of bibic in December.

The staff calendar will cost £6.99 and the student calendar will be £4.99.

Mary Matthews, fundraising and PR team leader at bibic, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the students from Bridgwater College on this project.

“It was great to have them visit us and learn all about what we do – we are really looking forward to seeing the finished calendars.”
