A CLINIC for adults with learning disabilities and autism has opened at the Fiveways Resource Centre in Yeovil.
Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Learning Disability Services has opened the Sensory Integration Therapy Clinic.
It supports adults who have been assessed to have complex sensory processing challenges, which can affect regulation of emotions and social and family relationships.
The development of the clinic has been a collaborative effort between the Adult Learning Disability teams of Future 4 Day Service Provision; Somerset County Council and the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams from Somerset Partnership.
The clinic was formally opened by Dr Stephen Ladyman, chairman of Somerset Partnership, and Oli Downton, a service user who has helped to develop the clinic.
